Draft #1: This was my first attempt at the film magazine review. I need to improve the run-around as it is uneven, there needs to be a text box over the top of the picture as it lacks something, there also needs to be some sort of banner with a web address next to the 'IN CINEMA', I also need to tidy up the text.
Draft #2: This was my improved film review. Once again, the run-around needs improving, however the added text box and banner makes it better. I also need to tidy up the text as some of it touches the border and can not be read very easily.
Draft #3: This is my final version of the film review. I feel that there is nothing more that can be improved on this and am happy that I now have the skills needed in order to produce high quality documents using Quark.
Deconstruction of Existing Product
Below I have included a deconstruction of a film review from EMPIRE Magazine. It contains a list nof conventions which we noticed always appear in this magazine and we would like to include most of them in our own magazine review. We will be doing this because we would like to create a copy of a page from Empire as this is the best selling film magazine on the market.
Below is another film review from FHM Magazine. We did not deconstruct this one because we knew we were going for conventions from Empire in our own product. However, we did like the 'See This' section and decided to include it in our own as we liked the idea of comparing our own film to existing films on the market.
Our Final Magazine Review
Below is our final product. Although this is only our first draft, we felt we were able to do this because we have done so many draft/practice magazine pages previously, and we have also researched and found out what we wanted before we put it on paper. We are very pleased with our film review and how it has turned out.
Process of Making Film Review
Below I have embedded a screen capture of the process we went through to create our film magazine review. The video explained how we created the design and how we inserted the different elements to our page.
Deconstruction of SCAR Production's Film Magazine Review
Below is the deconstruction of our product, it contains explanations about why we used each element that goes into our magazine review.
